when I explore the forest
in my dreams
my imagination takes me
dancing through the leaves
well, I leap from stone to stone
until I reach a stream
jump on a lily pad
and take in the scene
I search for the fairies
in the hawthorn trees
small as they are
I know they’re looking back at me
oh, the wee folk are mythical
and mysterious as can be
I send a friendly wave
then drift off towards the sea
a leprechaun jumps down
offering a pot of gold
I flash a sly grin
you know I can’t take it home
a princess on a white horse
offers to be my guide
I gracefully decline
though tempted to take a ride
black ravens fly by
cawing as if to say
back through the mist you go
what an adventurous day
feeling the warmth and comfort
of me own bed
I flutter my eyes and smile
more dreams…… ahead
